Rosa - Day 2

So my second day is nearly over and I've been busy trying to set up a new routine.  I had a really hard night as I really wanted some food but Mummy is still replacing her own fluids so hasn't got quite enough left over for me.  The ward was very busy and there wasn't enough midwives around overnight so Mummy couldn't really get enough help to look after us both. I got a bit upset about that and Mum didn't get much sleep as she was really worried about me.  The special baby unit had a look at me and they say I'm doing just fine.

Anyway, once the new midwife ladies came on shift this morning, Mum and me started to get much better.  A lovely lady called Anne helped me and Mummy out hugely and we're both getting into a bit more of a routine.

I'm learning a lot about my body - my legs are so long I can suck my own toes.

Dad and Mum have also been looking at my toes -  I have 5 fully formed toes that are really long.

I'm having more food, and so managed two big sleeps, which meant Mummy could sleep too.

Mummy is getting a bit more mobile, and feels better too, but I think she still needs more sleep.  Daddy brought in the rattle that Granny and Grandad bought me - I'm not quite strong enough to hold it yet but it was dead exciting seeing one of my new toys!

Daddy was here all day and is helping out Mum lots. He keeps taking photos of me on that iPhone thing, and kissing me.  I like my cuddles with him as it gives Mum a break and sometimes we even go on a walk around the maternity ward. Everyone looks at me cos Dad says I'm "too cute", and he keeps showing me off to everyone.  It's just a shame he has to leave at 9pm cos I think Mum would really like an extra pair of hands overnight.
