Australia

We spent the first few days of February together in Sydney, visiting our friend Geraldine. We helped hunt for new a home for her soon to be expanded family (the baby is due in May). Whilst hunting for flats we stopped by an amazing cup cake shop and couldn't help but indulge:

(big tummy from the baby, not the cake!)

We also did some swimming in their outdoor pool, taking in the fabulous views and enjoying a drink on their terrace:

Sadly, the weather didn't quite live up to Australia's reputation as the driest continent, and we sought refuge from the downpour in Sydney's Wildlife World:

Once the weather cleared, we took a walk around Watson's Bay, stopping off at Doyle's for fish and chips.

We caught the ferry into Circular Quay with Geraldine, and experienced the iconic views the daily commute greets her with.

Hannah flew back to Auckland after our visit to Sydney, but Gareth, taking advantage of some extra leave, flew on to Perth to visit family and friends who live there.

Gareth spent some time taking in the sights of Perth and Fremantle, as well as spending time with family friends:

There was also a big family get together in Kings Park, with all three of Gareth's cousins (Ben, Matthew and Sophie), as well as his Aunty and Uncle:
