My third week in this world has certainly been one full of new experiences. The week started off with a visit from Rosemary who just visited for the day, even though she lives a 4-hour drive away. I had some lovely cuddles and fell asleep in her arms.
On Friday, myself and Mummy spent the day at the Family Plunket Centre. Here, a lactation consultant watched me having my breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, then gave Mummy a few hints and tips. They also helped settle me to sleep and gave me my first 'play' time on a bouncinette with some toys - I was rather small in the chair though!
On Saturday, I went to the beach and waited to watch Daddy running by as he was doing the Coastal Challenge with some friends (a 16-km run along the rocks and beaches on the north shore). It was the first time I had seen Daddy running and I enjoyed being part of the support crew. Daddy spotted me a long way off and stopped for a quick kiss before finishing the rest of the race. As Daddy was running super fast, I didn't have chance to take any photos!
On Sunday, I wore my first dress and loved it! I felt like a real little girl.
I had picked the dress out especially as it was a big day for me - meeting Grandpa and Auntie Alice for the very first time! I was very excited, but managed to get some sleep in the car on the way to the airport. This was my first trip to the airport of many to come over the next few months.
As we got close to the airport, we saw their plane landing and we only had to wait about 20 minutes at International Arrivals before my purple relatives came through.
As I was still quite sleepy, I decided to wait until we got back home to have my first real cuddles.
In the afternoon, I took Grandpa and Aunty Alice on my favourite walk from Murrays Bay along to Mairangi Bay. Daddy and Alice went for a swim and then we all had coffee and cake at Paper Moon cafe.
Since Grandpa and Aunty Alice have been here, I have enjoyed getting to know them and lots more cuddles. I feel very comfortable falling asleep in their arms.
I had my first play at home and really enjoyed stretching out.
With extra help on hand, I experienced my first meal in public yesterday. Mummy did really well and even managed to eat something herself at the cafe.
This week also saw my first crazy hair!
So, a busy week all in all! I have started sleeping more at nighttime and feel a lot more settled in my new home. I wonder what week 4 will bring?
