Spring weekends

As we have said goodbye to winter and hello to spring, we have spent our weekends relaxing and catching up with friends. First stop, Mairangi Bay for a decaf flat white and admiration of the growing bump.

We had Ruby and Leah to stay the night as Mum and Dad enjoyed a 'date night'. With Sarah and Mike arriving back from Canada after 3 months, we had fun making signs and getting up at 4am for an early reunion at the airport.

Busy at work

Sorry Anna and Owen - we spent the evening playing with our food!

Much excitement at the airport, although it was a bit of a wait...

Hannah's birthday weekend coincided with the opening of the new Auckland Art Gallery, so we spent a Sunday afternoon being very impressed with what was on offer.

The birthday celebrations continued with a brunch at Mangiamo's in Mairangi Bay.

Our annual Omaha weekend proved wonderful again. We had a fantastic bach just a few metres from the beach and the weather managed to stay dry for our outing to the Matakana markets and cafes.

Gareth nipped off for a run to the Tawharanui regional park near to where we were based.

Andrew, Anika, Anika's brother (Dhillon) and a friend (Steve) arrived late on Thursday evening....so late in fact that we were fast asleep and assumed they had arrived safe and sound by the sight of toothbrushes by the sink as we went to work on Friday morning. A Friday evening drink and catch up in the city ended with a walk on Queen's wharf and the rugby world cup "party central'.

Saturday afternoon and time for a kayak to Brown's bay...and even a swim for Andrew and Steve!

After lots of frustration and intensive moves, Andrew managed to complete the Rubix cube. Here, holding it up in all its glory!
