Bolton, Harrogate, Liverpool and London

We made it to Bolton in time to celebrate Grandma's 89th birthday.

We also managed to arrange an afternoon with Rachel, James and Matthew. It was so lovely to catch up with all three of them over a Pizza Express lunch.

All too soon, it was time for Hannah to catch a train down to London and hop on her flight back to NZ.

Gareth stayed on for another couple of weeks to spend time in Bolton, Harrogate, Liverpool and a couple of days in London.

In Bolton, Gareth visited the mecca of football (Old Trafford) as it revelled in its 19th league trophy.  He also spent time with his family going for walks and sharing meals.

Gareth popped over to Harrogate to catch up with Paul, Frances and their family as they prepared to move home.  He was treated to breakfast at Bettys, and walks around Brimham Rocks and Fantham Abbey.

For his last few days in Bolton, Gareth visited a few new places, including spending a day in Liverpool at the Albert Docks and the International Slavery Museum.

Before flying back to NZ, Gareth squeezed in a couple of days sightseeing in London.  He visited the British Museum with Mike and Jenny, and wandered past Trafalgar Square as London celebrated 1 year until the Olympics.  He also took in the view from St Paul's Cathedral, and visited sights along the Southbank including Tate Modern, the London Eye, and the Houses of Parliament.  The visit was topped off with a few beers with mates from London before the long flight back.
