Coromandel Cruising

For our last weekend with Gareth's parents, we decided to take them to one of our favourite places....the Coromandel! We booked a cottage set in a beautiful garden just a couple of kilometers outside of Cormomandel town. A lazy Saturday morning took us on a walk around the garden.

As we have been to the Coromandel so many times, we decided to try a few new things, so it was an adventure for us too. The first of these was the Driving Creek railway set in a pottery. A 20-minute journey takes you up through the forest to the 'Eyefull tower' and views over the Coromandel.

Time for afternoon tea in an organic cafe.

On Sunday, we headed east over the hills towards Kuaotunu, where we stopped for a paddle.

The second 'new' Coromandel experience for us was a visit to the Lost Springs hot pools in Whitianga. We felt like we were on a tropical island!

What a wonderful way to complete a fantastic month with our visitors. Lifelong memories created!
