Early start at Britomart
Saturday morning, we jumped on a little plane to Wellington and enjoyed views of the Kaikoura ranges
A walk around the waterfront in the sunshine enjoying markets, cafes and dragon boat racing before arriving at the parliament buildings.
The 'beehive' is where the PM and other ministers have their offices. We had a tour inside the buildings and saw the debating chambers and select committee hearing rooms complete with wonderful maori carvings.
Obligatory shot of Hannah infront of Hannah's on Lambton Quay!

We were staying the magnificent Museum Hotel, complete with artwork in the rooms and lobby.
Pre-dinner cocktails and a meal at Monsoon Poon.
On Sunday morning, we made a quick trip to the markets to pick up some croissants for breakfast and yummy picnic food for lunch.

We had heard a lot about a wildlife sanctuary called Zealandia, so spent the day there amongst the birds and native wildlife. It reminded us a lot of Tiritiri!
