November sculptures, rugby, kayaks, ape runs and catch ups

Although it is not even midway through November, we seem to have packed a lot in, so a blog in in order before the photos stack up!

Every 2 years, the north shore holds a sculpture exhibition on the cliffs just down the road, so we decided to pay a visit in the afternoon sunshine. Some huge, some great, some bizarre and some very clever ideas!

We managed to get hold of some last-minute tickets to go to the rugby league international matches at the new stadium...England vs Papua New Guinea, then the Kiwis vs the Kangaroos. A big crowd to watch England win and then (unfortunately), the Kiwis lose.

We woke to a beautiful still Sunday morning and decided to kayak up to coast. We were enjoying ourselves so much, that we ended up in Long Bay (about 5km north) where we went for coffee and a bite to eat before paddling back.

Tempted by the title 'The Great Ape Race' we signed up for some orienteering in the zoo, along with Y and Gemma. We answered questions around the zoo and visited all the animals along the way!

Angie and Paul stayed with us for a couple of nights after their amazing trip around NZ. We enjoyed a BBQ in the garden before the made the long trip home.

Camille is also now living in Auckland, so we met up after work for a coffee....which turned into a glass of wine.
