A long weekend in Melbourne

We are very lucky to be able to catch up with Geraldine, Aloys and Malena about every 6 months. This time we decided to meet up in Melbourne, so that we could all have a holiday and explore a new city! Aloys' sister, Chloe, also joined us for the weekend.

We stayed in the Docklands area and woke to blue skies and sunshine after our late arrivals on Friday evening.

Good friends catching up

We were tempted by the bikes, but had no helmets or a child seat, so by tram and foot we went...first stop Federation Square.

Closely followed by the playground!

A walk along the southbank.

And the essential photo on Bourke Street!!

Passing many pieces of modern art along the way.

Followed by an evening in St Kilda with friends from France.

Story time

On Sunday, we explored the "lanes" of Melbourne city, complete with hot chocolate stops!..

Sunday evening in the apartment.

Time for more stories...

A sunny Monday morning took us to Fitzroy and the wonderful cafes and shops in this area.

Wake up and smell the...

Making the most of the beautiful winter sunshine, we headed to the botanical gardens.

And back along the river to one of the highlights of the weekend...

The ABBA World interactive exhibition!!!! We took lots of video footage too :-)

Our last day in Melbourne was spent in and around the centre enjoying food, exhibitions and the "kids zone".
