Ola Espana!

The olive groves beckoned the Bourkes for the big birthday bash for the BFG (aka John). The big fella (Aka Dad) turned 70 and 16 of the family headed out to the Andalucian hills to celebrate.

We stayed near a little village, and ate traditional spanish foods in the local restaurant.

We enjoyed a walk along a gorge to Alhama de Granada village.

On the big day itself, we celebrated with a champagne breakfast on the terrace.

For lunch, we witnessed a traditional Paella being cooked in front of us by two locals. Delicious!!!

And then a surprise for John, an hour of flamenco guitar.

Everyone soaked up the time together.

And in the evening, we had readings and Eamon's amazing slideshow of photos spanning John's first 70 years.
