Dave is an experienced 'tramper' (hiker), and assured us of fine weather on the coastal part of the Waitakeres, so we headed over there for a walk on Sunday. We found it to be far from fine once we'd hiked half way around our walk, and trudged back in pouring rain and mist! Still, it blew away the cobwebs, and gave us a much needed break away from the city.
During the weekend we also bid farewell to Rosemary, our friend from the Bay of Islands, who has travelled back to her native Scotland for Christmas. We wish her a safe journey.
Sorry for the lack of posts recently. Both of us have been busy living life at a hundred miles an hour, although last weekend's quarter marathon saw us travel at a much slower 5 miles an hour! We both made it around the 10.5km course in just over 50 mins, and had a great time seeing the numerous runners of all ages, shapes and sizes rising out of bed early to take part.
The newly-weds, Francis and Molly, are currently touring the South Island and we'll meet back up with them later this week before they fly back to the UK. Heather is due out soon, and then Hannah and Dave will be over in mid December for their honeymoon, so we're looking forward to catching up on all of their tales.
Hope you're all doing well. G&H xx
