January surfs past!

It doesn't seem two minutes ago since we were stood watching fireworks explode from the Skytower, and now we're already at the end of the first month of the year! Where did the time go? Well....

Alice, Nik and John spent a the second week in January in Auckland, whilst we struggled to get back into the working routine. To give us something to look forward to, we decided to head to Raglan, a small town home to hippies and surfers galore! We booked into a lovely cottage overlooking the sea, and took a walk along the rugged beaches.

On our return journey we stopped by the Bridal Veil Falls.

Our visitors headed on from Raglan to visit the Coromandel Penninsula, but returned in time for John's flight on to South America. Alice and Nik stayed on for Gareth's Birthday, and rustled up a Sausage and Mash tea, and a Birthday cake for the youthful looking 28 year-old.

And so our house returns to its normal quiet self. From bursting at the seams, its left with us rattling around the place. We've just returned from another weekend away, making the most of the long bank holiday weekend to visit Rosemary and Stan's beautiful home 4 hrs north of Auckland. We return relaxed, refreshed and ready to venture into February.
