What better way to spend Christmas eve than in the company of two very excited girls (5 and 2 years old). First job was to sprinkle magic dust (aka rolled oats with food colouring and glitter) onto the driveway to ensure santa could see this house from the sky at night.
Next on the list was carrots for the reindeer and a glass of milk for santa. Then it was time for cuddles (including cuddles from Leah to Baby G!) before bedtime for the girls.
Then the real job started of brushing my little ponies hair, dressing barbie dolls and wrapping, wrapping and more wrapping!
A little knock on the bedroom door at 6.10am ensured that we were up to see that santa and the reindeer had been to visit.
After a morning of unwrapping, a visit from Helen and making salads, we put on our swimming costumes and went to Long Bay for a swim (Gareth, Sarah and Jean opted for a run then dip in the sea). The water was a lovely temperature and it seemed like lots of others had the same idea as us.
We then all headed for Sarah and Mike's for an afternoon BBQ of salmon, steak and sausages with amazing salads, followed by pumpkin pie, pavlova and fruit salad. Yum!
It was then home for some wonderful skyping time and unwrapping more presents with our families. A busy, but fun-packed Christmas day!
We had a chilled out boxing day afternoon with Laura, Ben and Sammy, enjoying a BBQ in their garden.
