Nic and Scott arrive

We were looking very bleary-eyed when fresh-faced Nic and Scott arrived into Auckland airport at 6am on Saturday morning! We couldn't believe how awake they both were after the long flight from London and we were even more impressed that they managed to stay awake until 11pm. We filled their first morning here with a walk up One Tree Hill.

The afternoon was relaxing as we caught up in front of our log fire before putting the face paints on for the All Blacks versus Wallabies rugby match. Rosemary joined us in the afternoon for a pre-match drink before we all headed to the stadium.

But we weren't quite ready for the rain!! A thunderstorm arrived with a torrential downpour just before kick off. We were soaked through, but that didn't stop us supporting the All Blacks, who won the game! To warm up after the match, we popped into a cafe in Mt Eden for bowls of hot chocolate and yummy cake.

Thankfully, the winter sun came out for us on Sunday and we enjoyed a trip up the Sky Tower pointing our some of the Auckland sights.






Next stop was Mission Bay for a bite to eat and walk on the beach.
