We've just spent the weekend relaxing in Mount Maunganui, in the Bay of Plenty. We headed over on Friday night, and woke up to glorious sunshine on Saturday morning. We started our training for the Auckland Half Marathon (October 2006) by taking a run along the beach. The hot sunshine and sand certainly gave us a good workout, so we cooled off by taking a (chilly) dip in the sea.
After working up a thirst, we headed into town for a glass of wine, and took a walk along the beach

Chilly toes!
This morning (Sunday) we climbed up to the summit of Mt Maunganui, the volcano at the tip of the peninsular on which the town is built. The view from the top (282m) made it worth the effort.
View from the top!
